Education and training

The laboratory offers significant capabilities for training students, employees and the unemployed on technical subjects of its speciality and its research activities based on the expertise of its scienticic staff and the technical facilities available. Our many years' experience and specialisation guarantees a very high level of education and training as well as the correct introduction to the nature and the use of advanced technologies.

First of all, of course, we undertake the research training and education of students from various universities in Greece and overseas at all levels: initially to carry out their degree-level dissertaion attached to one of our research programmes under the guidance of a researcher for a period of 5-8 months and at a later stage to proceed to the much more challenging objective of PhD-level research at a much higher level. In this, the student undertakes to complete a fully integrated research programme which is usually completed in about 3-4 years.

Secondly, the laboratory offers technical training seminars to employees in the public or private sector (industries or companies) on areas of its specialisation and capabilities. The seminars may be focused as necessary and may be offered at various levels, including industrial application areas such as "technology transfer", "Innovation management" etc. Such seminars are always prepared and offered after due prior arranegments. There is almost always the capability of focusing the seminars to the specific interests of our customers.  

Training can be carried out either at Demokritos or at a place selected by the customer, if possible. The laboratory fees are competitive and there is a possibility for negotiating a reduction for a large number of attendees from the same customer.
