The Advanced Ceramics and Composites Laboratory was founded in 1990 with initial emphasis on the development of advanced ceramic materials and ceramic-based composites. It has since grown very substantially and its main activities are now divided between research (for supranational and national authorities and industries) and services to industry and institutions.
